Dubovica is the beach photographers use to sell the whole island: a stone hamlet, a crescent of white pebbles, water the colour of bottle glass. Park on the main road above and take the ten-minute path down — arrive before ten or after five and you may have it nearly to yourself.

Water taxis run constantly from Hvar Town's harbor in summer for short hops to Palmižana and the nearer islets, or you can book a private or group boat day that covers several coves and beaches at once.
